第4回 Trident: Try one of Boulder’s best coffee shops
From great lattés and teas to an excellent selection of used books, Trident Coffee and Bookstore offers it all.
In a town like Boulder, it seems one can count the number of great coffee shops on one hand. This is not a knock on the city, and in fact, for a city as small and cozy as Boulder, four or five good coffee shops is quite a feat, considering the onslaught of the large coffee chains. One particular coffee shop that stands out from the rest is Trident.
Trident sits on the far western end of the Pearl street mall and is a local favorite for many. There is always a nice mix of townies and students who come here to study, talk about the world, play chess, or drink some of Trident’s wonderful selection of coffees and teas. They have over forty teas to choose from and their lattés ($2.50) are excellent.
What really makes Trident different from the others is its atmosphere. Trident bookstore is connected with the coffee shop and has many great used books (but not at “used book” prices), which is especially nice to as you are waiting for a table. On the walls, there is artwork and paintings from local artists, reminding us that there are actually people in Boulder who were born in Boulder.
Trident fills up quickly every night, so you might have to wait for a table. It is well worth the wait though to experience one of Boulder’s great coffee shops. If you made it this far reading, then get going to Trident. Hey, I’ll buy you a drink. I’m the one with one red shoe. (Written by G.T)
